Matt from One Day International gives us an insight to what lies in store for those who wade in the tempestuous seas of rock, those who scoff in the very, pristine face of Eoghan Quigg, those who cast off the shackles of employment only to have them intermittently wrapped around their ever-gnarling and vein-clustered wrists and arms once again as records come and go… lovely-sounding week though. In a word, how’s your week?
What did you get up to last night and how was it?
I sat in a chair with a bottle of wine and finished reading Revolutionary Road then went up to my studio and worked for awhile. It was a comfortingly typical way to spend the night.
What’s for dinner tonight and who’s cooking it?
Dinner tonight is baked fillets of cod with a garlic, breadcrumb and parsley crust. Baby potatoes and a warm mayonnaise slightly thinned with water. I’m cooking. Thanks Rick Stein!
What have you listened to today and did you like it?
I’m listening to M Ward right now. It’s amazing. He reminds me of Richard Hawley in places. I started the day with Midlake. Harmonies for breakfast!!
What’s your favourite/least favourite thing that’s happened this week?
Favourite thing was catching up with my family a bit after having been away doing shows. Least favourite thing was realising how broke I am…
Hey Matt, we’re all broke. It’s fine. No-one expects you to be able to afford things anyway. Steal. Visit One Day International with your ears, here
